Institutional investors are defined as organisations whose participation in the financial markets is realised with sizeable funds under statutory control, supervision and activity. Institutional investors invest either on their own behalf or on behalf of individual small investors and generally move significant amounts of money to various investments, depending on the performance and the risk they want to take.

Credit Institutions (Banks), Insurance Companies, Brokerage Firms, Brokerage Firms providing Investment Services (Securities S.A.), Investment Services Providers, Investment Companies, Mutual Funds and Pension Funds are considered to be Institutional investors.
